The Bangladesh National Information Bureau, launched in June, to make the government's services easier to reach the people with digital technology. It is actually a web portal made up of 20,000 websites. This review is about how the portal contains the information people need, how useful it is, how rich it is in the information.
The world's largest digital web portal has been launched in Bangladesh as part of a government effort to deliver government services to the doorsteps of the people. Its name is Bangladesh National Information Bureau (www.bangladesh.gov.bd). Inaugurating the portal on June 25, Prime Minister's Information Advisor Sajeeb Wazed Joy said, “We have verified that there are no more than 25,000 government websites in one country in another country. There is only one in Bangladesh now. ”More than 3,000 government officials have been trained to insert information into the data base. It was in charge of the Planning and Implementing Access to Information (AUTI) program. Good to say, the website www.bangladesh.gov.bd also had a website. However, the scope was less then. Inauguration ceremony further said that this information is shared by about 1 lakh people every day. Ranking and popularity check website Alexa (www.alexa.com) was spotted on the night of July 25, with the national ranking of the website ranked at number 202 from Bangladesh. And in the 12th place in the world.
The government wants the citizens of the country to use the national information platform as a one-stop service to get information on agriculture, education, health, law, tourism etc. It is said that notification of educational institutions, gazette, e-services, government forms, Citizens Charter, list of officers of various government institutions, list of more than seven million e-directories, list of freedom fighters, development activities of the government, names of representatives, addresses, phone numbers etc. are all 'Bangladesh National Information can be found at 'Bataan'. The websites of union level 1, Upazila level 1, district level 12, division level 1, district council level 1, upazila parishad level 1, ministry-division level 1, directorate level 1 and city corporation and municipal level websites are grouped together. Information sharing has been created. There is even an English version of it to introduce Bangladesh to the world court, which deserves praise. However, the Bengali and English versions are incompatible with providing information. For example, the front page of the Bangla edition states: “Under the national constitution, construction of about 25,000 web portals (information boats) has been completed for all the government offices, including the unions, upazilas, districts, departments, directorates, ministries. If the portals are launched in all the offices, it will be easier to get information and services to the people. ”On the other hand, the English version says that more than 20,000 portals have been created which is in the experimental (beta version). Thus, the data and statistics of the Bangla and English versions are seen all over the air.
Although there is much to disseminate national information, it is not usable. That is, there are many types of problems when using it. Finding any information here is like finding a needle in a haystack. Then it can be doubtful whether the information found can be relied upon. Because there is a lot of misinformation and data. Once a user sees a misinformation, naturally other questions come to mind. And when you look at the wrong information on the page, you will understand how serious the situation is.
The first page has 3 ministries and departments written aloud. But there are 5 inside. Again, three directors and other buttons are found inside the press, and five are found, of which the Information Commission is twice. Because the names of the ministry, department or department are not alphabetically arranged, it is difficult and difficult to find your choice from the huge list. Again the search for the first page is not what you need to find. After searching individually for kalapara, patuakhali, kuikata, nothing was found. By searching Cox's Bazaar, the list of 'hospital' has been found at the beginning. After clicking on it, a list of hospitals of different divisions and districts of the country was found. If you go to your district or upazila with this air conditioning, you will not be able to return from there. But this opportunity could easily have been kept.
Moda, a portal that could have been important and unique to the civil service, has been created in a number of unwanted and neglected ways. Not only the accuracy of the information, but also the quality and information of the information may not have been considered by the people involved in building this website.
To understand how much information there is inconsistency, I chose Kalapara upazila of Patuakhali district. There, the eyes are sparkling. There are inconsistencies in the names, village names and numbers of the chairmen of the Union Parishad (UP). However, the Union Information and Service Center website had to be shocked. I found that the income of Ishibpur Union of Rajair, which is at the top of the list of the top 20 serving centers on June 28, is Tk. Which is impossible at all! The lowest income earner is Harata Union in Wazirpur. Their income is Tk. One day list shows that Noakhali Union of Noakhali Sadar earns Tk. And the number one is 'Admin'. His income is Tk. Then understand the status of data entry on the entire website!
Our expectation, that in the concerted efforts of all, one day, the national information distribution will become a web portal of
